Farewell

Well, the time has officially come for me to bid you farewell.

I’ve had this blog for over 2.5 years, and it’s been a source of much pleasure and joy and healing for me.  Having a place to process an unwanted C-section, being a parent for the first time, a twin pregnancy, a twin VBAC, and handling 3 very small children has been something I desperately needed.

The best part about it, though, has been how many times my posts have helped someone.  How many times my posts have helped YOU.

My posting has slowed over the last few months.  I have realized that I am no longer needing a place to process things.  I don’t have as much that I need to process, and the things I’m dealing with now, I do not feel like sharing with random strangers on the Internet.  As much as I have enjoyed affecting your lives in positive ways, I no longer have the emotional energy to deal with the trolls that come with the job.  I am also feeling an increased need to keep the lives of my children more private.

I thought about deleting my blog completely, but a dear friend said that many people could still gain a lot from reading my posts.  When I received another comment tonight, thanking me for a post I wrote in September, I realized that my friend is right.  My posts still could help bring healing to mothers who have had unwanted C-sections, to women looking for positive Twin VBAC birth stories, for people needing to know twin infancy is survivable, and for women needing to regain a love for their bodies.

So, I will not be deleting the blog, but tomorrow I will turn off the comment feature, and just let it be.

I will be deleting the connected Twitter account and Facebook page as well.

As always, you will still be able to reach me at highheelhippiemommy at gmail dot com, and I encourage you to do so!

Thank you, dear readers, for 2.5 years of reading my crap.  Thank you for encouraging me so many times.  Thank you for caring about me and my family.  I will miss you.
